Moving our round one deadline back two weeks provides several additional days for aspiring Tuck students to visit campus and interview before finalizing round one applications. And once again, we are committing to a shorter wait time for decisions.” The short-answer section of the application is also going by the wayside, instead prioritizing space for essays. Tuck applicants will provide three separate 300-word essays on the following:“Tuck students can articulate how the distinctive Tuck MBA will advance their aspirations. Why are you pursuing an MBA and why Tuck?”“Tuck students recognize how their individuality adds to the fabric of Tuck. Tell us who you are.”“Tuck students invest generously in one another’s success even when it is not convenient or easy. Share an example of how you helped someone else succeed.”In addition to changes to the essay and recommendation sections in its applications, Dartmouth MBA deadlines have been pushed back slightly for the 2019-20 season. As for recommendations, Tuck will now be using GMAC’s Common Letter of Recommendation Questions, which are as follows:“Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant and, if applicable, the applicant’s role in your organization.”“How does the performance of the applicant compare to that of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? (E.g. what are the applicant’s principal strengths?)”“Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant’s response.”“Is there anything else we should know? (Optional)”Peña adds:“We really enjoy getting to know our applicants and are eager to reduce anxiety in the application process. Our previous questions for references were distinct. Applicants told us that made the process more onerous. We trust that references with the knowledge, desire, and time to thoughtfully advocate for applicants will still surface meaningful examples of Tuck criteria when responding to these common prompts.”Dartmouth MBA Deadlines Dartmouth Announces New MBA Deadlines, Changes to Admissions Round TwoJanuary 6, 2020January 31, 2020 March 12, 2020April 27, 2020center_img Consortium Round OneOctober 15, 2019November 1, 2019December 12, 2020February 17, 2020 or April 27, 2020 RelatedFriday News – Georgetown Executive Program Earns Top 10 Ranking, UVA Darden Launches Online Career Development Tool, and MoreLet’s take a look at some of the biggest stories from this week, including the Georgetown Executive Education program earning some heady praise from the Financial Times.
