Grant allows Goshen to make water tank repairs, improvements

When the sandblasting started, people were curious about what the tank would look like when it was repainted.”The original gray or silver color was replaced with bright white paint and the word, “Goshen” and the eagle reappeared, but in a different form. By The Penny Hoarder Next UpShaver said the CDBC grant made it possible for the minor repairs to be made to the tank and a pressure reducing station, with lines that connect to the Pike County Water Authority, to be installed. The tank was also sandblasted and repainted.Goshen’s water tank was recently upgraded with CDBG funds.“The lines that connect to the Pike County Water Authority will provide backup water supply to Goshen,” Shaver said. “So, if, for any reason our tank was out of use, Goshen would have water.”Shaver said the last time Goshen’s 60,000-gallon water tank was painted was in 1974.
