Suryapet: Minister for Education G Jagadish Reddy urged people to give up buying filter water from water plants and instead take safe drinking water being supplied under Mission Bhagiratha for better health.On Friday, he laid foundation stones for various developmental projects at Patarlapadu village in Athmakur (S) mandal in the district. Stating that water from drinking water plants contains chemicals and can be harmful to health, the Minister informed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has initiated the Mission Bhagiratha scheme to provide safe drinking water to every household of the State. He urged the people to plant as many saplings as possible under Haritha Haram programme. The Minister warned of depriving benefits under government schemes to those who fail to construct individual household latrines in their residences. Local body representatives, party leaders and villagers attended the programmes.
